At least I got to *see* my cousin!

We planned our visit to New Jersey so we could see my cousins who live here...

Unfortunately, Carl and I have been coping with being under the weather with COVID for a couple of weeks, so we have not been able to visit anyone...

When we were in Ohio a few weeks ago, we had ordered our mail -- it had plenty of time to get there, but the package stayed in Des Moines for a few extra days on the way and arrived after we had left.

So, our friends in Ohio forwarded it to my cousin in New Jersey...

We needed to at least pick up our mail... so, on Friday, we drove over to cousin Susie's house. I asked if she could just leave the mail outside in her yard, and she agreed, but asked that we honk the horn so she could at least wave at us from the door... so we did...

... and she did!

We at least got to greet her from afar!

We are both on the mend, though still dealing with congestion and coughing and lack of smell and taste. We're thankful to have a warm (or cool, depending on the outside temperature), dry, comfortable motorhome to live in and keep isolated from those around us. We look forward to continued improvement!

A little vitamin Sea

On Thursday, we drove to Long Beach Island, New Jersey, to enjoy the sand and sea... 

It was a beautiful day...

We stopped in Ship Bottom (the water tower has "Ship Bott...") - since it is off season, we were able to drive down one of the side streets, find on-street parking, and take the path over the dunes right to the beach.

There were some large kites/balloons up the beach from us.

We were glad to get outside and enjoy some Vitamin D and Sea!

I've spoken English, or some dialect of English, all my life. I'm still amazed how much of English I don't know!

A short walk around the campground

On Saturday, we took a short walk down the hill where we're parked to the lake...

There were some people fishing (I think it is catch and release) -- it was just peaceful and pretty.

Just what makes a "lite" trailer

We have been noticing that a lot of trailers carry a name of "Lite" - Carl has been taking pictures over the past few weeks of all the trailers we've seen with "Lite" in the name:

So, is an Ultra-Lite lighter than a Super-Lite? And what about a Mini-Lite, Trail-Lite, and Cruise-Lite? Are there any rules about how little a trailer should weigh to be labeled "Lite"? We know that folks want to be able to tow their trailers with their current SUV or even passenger car, so manufacturers are trying to meet that requirement (and we see vehicles towing trailers that look well over-balanced by the load on their bumper!). We figure that naming a trailer "Lite" gives the purchaser the impression that it can be towed by something small, and the salespeople probably don't do much to disabuse them of the notion that they will be fine. "You want to tow this with your bicycle? Sure! That shouldn't be a problem!"

Hershey Thousand Trails

We arrived at Hershey Thousand Trails on Tuesday. We've been pretty much staying put and resting.

Some fall colors are in evidence.

It is a pretty campground -  a lot of seasonals, but everyone seems to keep their sites in good shape.

We've enjoyed walking around the campground and seeing the different campers that are here.
