Hamming it up in Blue Mesa campground

Since we had about a two week stay in Blue Mesa campground, I thought Carl might get his ham radio antennas out -- he had gotten a new signal tester to help to determine how well his antennas were working, so he started setting up antennas and testing them during our second week.

With his new NanoVNA (Vector Network Analyzer), he was able to analyze his antennas for frequency response and tune them so they would have a low standing wave ratio (SWR) so the lowest amount of energy would be reflected back to his radio. (You'll have to ask him if you have any questions about that last sentence!)

Unfortunately, we are in a bit of a canyon at the campground, and the ham radio bands are not very active due to the atmospheric conditions this week, so he isn't getting to hear much on the radio.

Carl recently saw this picture in one of the Ham radio groups on Facebook:

I thought Carl ended up with a cat because he married me! Little did I know that it was due to his ham radio hobby!
