Did you know that Sunday last week was Palindrome Day?
It is the same whether you read the date forward or backward! |
The last "universal" palindrome day was over 908 years ago, and the next universal palindrome day will be in 101 years.
It was a particularly special day for us (Carl and Patti), as it was the day that we got married!
We had been studying the Bible together and praying together, and became convinced that God was behind our relationship. Given that we have both recently lost our spouses, we, more than many people, are well aware that we are not promised "tomorrow". In addition, given our ages, our RV lifestyle, and additional needs, we decided that a sooner wedding date was more appropriate than putting it off until later. And, to add to all of that... this would be the only Palindrome Day in our lifetimes!
Chatting before the wedding. It was a *beautiful* sunny, 80F day in Dallas - on February 2! |
Mark, my manager and director of the center, was one of our officiants. (This was before the ceremony - we were just talking as we waited for people to gather.) |
Exchange of rings |
Prayer of consecration by Pastor Terry (another volunteer on campus!) |
What a beautiful day, what a beautiful ceremony! |
Friends from campus provided our reception. Anna, daughter of dining hall manager, Susie, made the cake, and Mary made the punch; Joel and Mary decorated Four Points for our reception. |

So happy! So glad to be married! |
We are so incredibly, wonderfully blessed. We look forward to seeing what God will do in our lives as we serve Him together!
Congratulations Patti and Carl. May your life together be blessed with happiness and good health. Best wishes for many fulfilling experiences together. Melanie and Rick
