Moving to our next location

On Monday, we left Virginia Landing RV Campground on our way to Jimmy and Regina's farm (where I grew up), between Richmond and Williamsburg.

It probably is not obvious when you don't have the perspective of driving a big rig, but... the public road for about 5.5 miles into the campground was *very* narrow. Thankfully, we only met a UPS package truck on our way in, and no one on our way out (especially glad that we did not meet another RV!).

Our journey took us over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel:

We stopped at the north end at an observation area...

the winds were really strong as you possibly can detect from the white caps.

On our way crossing the bridge...

Entering one of the two tunnels

Inside the tunnel

Some of the beach houses near the south end of the Bridge-Tunnel

Our tunnel travel was not yet complete - we still needed to go through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel...

They are doing construction on both the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (building a parallel tunnel so there will be two lanes each way) and on the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel (I think to make it 3 lanes in each direction with an additional shoulder lane that can be used at rush hour- I'm not certain what they will be doing with the tunnel).

Into the Hampton Roads Tunnel

And coming out the other side!

We arrived at the farm mid afternoon and have gotten settled in -- we have a lot of to-do's to complete while we're here, so we're hoping to get started on them and get them knocked out soon!
