Tuesday to Coos Bay

We were scheduled to leave South Jetty campground on Wednesday to head to the FMCA Northwest Rally, but decided to leave on Tuesday and check in early for the rally...

Even though we've had rain and rain and cloudy and overcast, just a couple of days with no rain has provided plenty of dust in the campground (Gracie is up there in front creating that dust cloud as I follow in the Jeep).

The drive we took was down 101 along the coast - Carl had seen a really amazing view just before this but was unable to get his phone camera opened in time to take the picture -- this is looking out toward the coast where there is thick coastal fog on the ocean.

Approaching the bay bridge. There were bicycle riders waiting to cross the bridge too. Just as we got there, the light started flashing indicating that bicycle riders were on the bridge and the speed limit was 30MPH. I was thankful that the bike riders did not come out in front of me! I don't think going 30MPH would have helped much behind bike riders.

The railroad bridge west of us was open. You can see the fog bank still there on the ocean.

Approaching the top of the bridge

We got to The Mill Casino and RV Park where the rally was going to be held. We got parked in "General" parking (no hookups). As we were eating lunch, we noticed that a line of RVs had arrived, and they were soon proceeding the the area where we were parked...

It was a caravan from the Northwest Bus Nuts group -- several Prevosts and other bus-type rigs (though no Blue Birds!).

Gracie in her parking spot along with a couple of Prevosts down from her! I told Carl that we're on Millionaires' Row!

We had been told that we could pick up our information bag at the Yurt in the RV campground (the official campground, not the overflow area where we are parked...).

Going in to get our information packet.

Miss Kitty is SO happy that we have parked in a place that has SUNSHINE! She was not at all happy with the site we had selected at South Jetty campground as there was almost no sun at all...

We will be at North Bend / Coos Bay for the rally through Saturday, heading back north on Sunday to another Thousand Trails campground. We're looking forward to learning a lot and meeting new folks!
