Anyone interested in being Miss Doozie's next driver?

Since we've been back on the farm, we've been working on getting Miss Doozie ready to sell. We think she is pretty much ready... we're praying about our next steps. Meanwhile, is anyone on here interested in owning a Blue Bird Wanderlodge? She is a 2000 LXi Millenium Edition.

1830W solar on top (in addition to two 17 cu ft storage containers and a spare tire that are under the solar panels)

Wouldn't you like to own a BlueBird?

If you're at all interested, this is some of the information I wrote up about her:

2000 43’ LXi Millenium Edition - $79,990

No slides, 94K miles, currently located in southeast Virginia between Richmond and Williamsburg

Detroit Diesel S60 500HP engine, hours: 2260

6 speed Allison transmission with retarder

PowerTech generator, hours: 1945

When we were looking for a Blue Bird 5 years ago, we specifically

-          Wanted Detroit Diesel engine – “check” – S60 500HP

-          Did not want gas absorption refrigerator – “check” – previous owner had installed Samsung residential French door refrigerator

-          Did not want air toilet – “check” – previous owner had installed Vetus macerating toilet

-          Did not want slides (we heard of too many issues associated with slides and had found in our previous rig that they added “hallway” space and took away storage space) – “check”

We bought Miss Doozie in July, 2015, and moved in fulltime in October, 2015. She was our home for 4+ years until I lost Dwayne in early 2019. I continued to live in her through 2019 and into early 2020. After Carl and I married (another fulltime RVer), we debated a lot about which rig to keep. Miss Doozie is by far the more superior engineered rig, but, we ultimately decided to go with his previous, and newer, rig.

While we owned Miss Doozie, we made a number of upgrades / replacements – this is the list as I remember:

-          2 new house water pumps (2020)

-          1830W solar on roof (2018)

-          Magnum 2812 inverter – pure SINE wave (2018)

-          Magnum MPPT PT100 Charge Controller (2018)

-          Magnum Generator auto start (2018)

-          6 New AGM house batteries (2018)

-          Electric patio awning (2018)

-          New Koni shocks front, dual, tag (2017)

-          Safe-T-Plus Steering stabilizer (2017)

-          All 10 air bags replaced (2017)

-          Covered spare tire on roof (2017)

-          New Spendide washer/dryer (2017)

-          SeeLevel tank monitoring system

-          3 New engine batteries (2016)

-          Centramatic wheel balancers (2015)

-          Crossfire Dual tire pressure equalization system (2015)

-          2 17cu ft storage containers on roof (2015)

-          New tires put on in 2015 (drive and steer) and 2016 (tag)

Mike Putz documented information about the solar install (2018) in this entry: https://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.com/forums/showpost.php?p=410929&postcount=34

We honestly did not get to use the solar as much as we had hoped – we did use it through the summer in 2018, but she has mostly been plugged in since then.

Henderson’s Line-up in Grants Pass, Oregon, did the suspension work in 2017 – we had previously experienced problems with porpoising and they were able to get that resolved.

Other features of the LXi are, I think, common to all:

-          10 point air suspension

-          Diesel and electric hot water heat, electric baseboard heaters, heat strips on air conditioners

-          In-motion satellite (we’ve never used so cannot comment on usability)

-          2 flat screen TVs, VCR, DVD (we didn’t use)

-          4 place dining room (2 upholstered chairs, 2 extra folding chairs and table leaf)

-          Roman night shades and day shades – recently re-strung so strings are all in good shape

-          Corian counters and shower

-          Convection microwave

-          Gaggenau gas range

-          Auto/manual hydraulic leveling jacks, etc. – I honestly only use the manual leveling, but I love that I can air level and not have to use the jacks unless we’re on a more severe grade – great for Wal-docking.

-          Bathroom sink in separate lavatory area as well as in hallway

-          3 roof airs – all work

-          Exterior window awnings (we replaced the large patio awning with an electric patio awning)

-          Heated basement

-          Huge holding tanks – I think 150G fresh and 75G grey and black – the SeeLevel system allows us to know how full they are to 2-3%!

-          Pass through Joey bed in first bay (extends fully on either side)

-          Instahot water at kitchen sink (we never used)

-          Built in gas grill

-          Built in propane outlet for external gas appliances (e.g. fire pit)

-          CB (we never used)
