Construction

As we were driving on Thursday, we came into a construction area in West Virginia...

Carl pointed out to me that the construction markers being used were actually dehydrated barrels... if the construction workers added water, they would plump up into the barrels that you may have seen in other places!

In addition to beautiful scenery (through our dirty windshield), this was an interesting sign...

"Runaway Truck Ramp Closed" -- hmmm, not that you would ever plan to have your brakes fail, but... it would sure add to the distress if you knew that there is no runaway truck ramp!

There was a truck about 10 vehicles in front of us who was going *very* slowly - which was fine with me... no need to hurry down steep inclines! Beautiful scenery here too...

... and here...

... and here!

By the way, there were actually 3 runaway truck ramps within a very short distance of each other, and only the first one was closed, so there were other options in case of a braking breakdown - though that was not clear from the signage, maybe the truckers who regularly travel this highway were aware.

When we got to the eastern side of Richmond, we could see that they have had lots of rain because the dehydrated construction barrels have plumped right up with the addition of water!  ;-)
