We left the Residence Inn in Carmel, Indiana this morning (Saturday) to start on our journey back to Mesa, Arizona.
We took a slight detour to visit some friends in southern Illinois and have lunch with them...

| Nancy and Mike met us at Walt's in Marion for lunch - it was so nice for me to get to meet them and for all of us to visit and fellowship together! |
After lunch, we were heading further west, but since we had driven south a ways from I-70, we continued a little further south and then picked up US 60 near Sikeston, Missouri to continue on to Springfield, Missouri.

It was a cloudy day, with spits of sprinkles every once in a while, but a good day for traveling. Carl is feeling well -- he did better than half the driving today! We are so thankful that he is recovering well! And, we're stopped for the night in Joplin, Missouri. We are looking forward to a good night's rest! Hopefully Miss Kitty will settle down soon from sniffing all the things in the room...
