Back to NIRVC, again!

On Tuesday, we packed up and left Venture Out in Mesa to go back to National Indoor RV Center in Surprise to try to get the electrical problem resolved. On Wednesday morning, they came to get Gracie at about 9:30am and Carl was able to talk to both the service advisor and the technician. Neither of them wanted to hear that the installation of the awning caused the problem, but finally the technician heard what Carl was saying and said that he would call Newmar to find out where the wiring went for the circuit that we had lost and whether it was behind the wall where the awning was screwed in.

Carl checked several times, and at one point, soon after 11am, saw that they had a screw out and a screwdriver in the hole --

He didn't see anyone to talk with them, but, later in the afternoon, he went back and the technician let him know that they had found the problem, and had to dismantle the wall above the bathroom sink to get to the wires that were impacted. They had taken down the backsplash and part of the medicine cabinet and had just finished replacing those items when Carl had gone back to check at about 4pm.

Moving Gracie back into the parking area

We're back parked in the lot, and the awning and the slide and the electrical are ALL WORKING!

Wow... this is the first time since we've been married that we don't have issues with getting the awning installed hanging over us -- we can leave and not have to arrange a time to return to get more work done! That is not to say that there won't be additional work that needs to happen sometime in the future, but, for now, we are free to go where we want to go!

Miss Kitty had to be out of the coach today as the service folks needed access to the whole inside, so she stayed with us in the Jeep in her kennel. She was fine with that - maybe happier than being in the rig and hearing strange voices and people banging on her rig.

One of the things that is pretty constant while we are at NIRVC in Surprise are Air Force jets flying over from Luke Air Force Base. They are quite loud, though the pictures don't show how close they feel:

One over the building

zoomed in on one over us

another flying over the building

The base is not far driving, and even closer as the jet flies! google map link

Many times there are two or three flying in formation -- pretty neat to see -- but... we're ready to stop seeing them and get moving!

Now to figure out where to go next!
