On to Murfreesboro

On Wednesday, after our stop at the rest area along I-24 in Lake Nickajack, we continued northwest to Murfreesboro, TN, where we planned to meet Patti's former music minister from MacArthur Baptist, Bryant, and his family.

The Cracker Barrel had a great parking lot that was pretty much just for RVs and buses, and we were the only RVs there for Wednesday evening. (This is a picture of the front of the restaurant... we forgot to take a picture of the parking lot where Gracie was parked...).

We met Bryant and Michelle and family for breakfast on Thursday morning:

After breakfast - mostly happy faces! We so enjoyed visiting with them!

We had a short drive planned for Thursday, just up to Hendersonville, TN, to visit Patti's former coworker, Warren and his wife, Sarena. We had considered staying at a campground (though we usually do not when we're just stopping overnight) - because the free stay options that we usually use (Harvest Hosts, Walmart, Cracker Barrel) did not seem to have good choices. But, as I was looking on the map near Warren's house, I noticed a large campus for First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, and, on a whim, called to see if they would let us stay for the night. I talked with one of the pastors and he readily agreed, suggesting that we park in the area where the church buses park.

We got parked with the church buses and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon...

Miss Doozie would have felt right at home here as one of their church buses is a Bluebird -- not exactly a Wanderlodge, but built like a Wanderlodge rather than like a school bus!

Looking up the hill toward the church.

The Harvest Hosts program has started adding some church properties that will welcome RVers for overnight stays. Dewayne, the pastor I spoke with at FBC Hendersonville, just wanted to be sure that we would be leaving before Sunday morning, which I assured him we would. The churches in the Harvest Hosts program just ask for a contribution, so we made a contribution to FBC Hendersonville in thanks for their welcome towards us!
