Annual Labor Day Brunch and Bike Ride

We hosted the Williams' Family Annual Labor Day Brunch and Bike Ride at Big Rock Campground this year.

We decided to use one of the pavilions at the campground -- they can be reserved (for a fee) but if they are not reserved, they can be used by anyone in the campground first-come, first-served. We could host it at our campsite, but we had been concerned that it may be hot if the sun was out (we have afternoon shade but sunny in the morning at our site).

Biscuits waiting to go into the oven for biscuits and gravy.

It was good that we were at the pavilion since we needed a total of two large picnic tables to seat everyone!

Plus the food was out on separate tables that we had brought over.

A view of the eating tables from the other end...

Plenty of grub for seconds!

After brunch, several tried different sports -- we didn't have bean bags for corn-hole, so they were using bouncy balls... getting them into the holes was more a factor of luck than skill, I think!

Good follow-through on that throw!

Further discussion around the tables

One of the pitches went a little wild and a hunt in the tall grass for the baseball ensued.

Former participants now spectators -- it was a bit chilly as the day was overcast and breezy.

Now some pitch and catch...

A tee-ball game was started...

Run! You might notice a couple of bikes next to the tree -- George and Jeremy upheld the "Bike Ride" part of the event, riding out on the trails and around the quarry.

The cheering squad for the tee-ball game -- Carl had brought his e-bike over and several folks got to try it out. Everyone thought that the power assist was nice!

We were glad that folks were able to get together and visit!
