Errands on Wednesday

There are always things to get done -- anywhere we land -- but particularly in "home" (or what was home in the past) locations.

We are staying at Big Rock Campground, part of the Kane County Forest Preserve District (https://kaneforest.com/location/big-rock-campground), in the far western suburbs of Chicago.

We drove into Wheaton for a doctor's appointment, did a drive-by viewing of the two houses where Carl and Sue had lived, visited briefly with one of their former neighbors in St Charles, got lunch (Bueno Italian Beef), made a stop at Costco to pick up a few things, stopped by Goodwill to see if we found anything we needed, then went to Men's Warehouse to arrange to rent a suit for Carl's son, Steve's, wedding:

It was amazingly easy to arrange for the rental...

... the only difficulty was deciding on color... we decided on dark grey, but afterwards found out that Steve and his father-in-law-to-be are getting navy, so we think we're going to change it. The fellow at Men's Warehouse said that we have until next Thursday (2 weeks before the event) to make any changes.

A couple more stops (Walmart -- found a great bargain on a couple of pairs of shorts! -- and Walgreens for a prescription pickup) and then we got back home - whew! A lot of to-do's got done!

Back at the campground, it is a bit warmer and a lot more humid than on Tuesday. Carl had taken a long bike ride on Tuesday afternoon (lunch had disagreed with me so I stayed in Gracie). We both decided to take a ride around the quarry lake on Wednesday afternoon:

The lake was like glass!

At the area where people come who are just coming to the lake (the "furthest" point on our bike ride from the campground, about 1.5 miles out).

Warning signs at the lake - while you're allowed to have a boat on the lake and fish, no swimming is allowed.

We have additional to-do's for the next few days... though hopefully not as many to get done as we did on Wednesday!
