Moving and a song parody

When we were moving Gracie around the Organ Pipe campground, we were constantly on the watch to avoid the stones marking the side of the road and desert plants that are always present to provide some "Arizona pinstriping" on vehicles.

A view of the campground roads as we were walking one afternoon...

From the roof of Gracie, a look at a vintage trailer that was parked across from us -- the fellow had restored it himself (it was the 4th vintage trailer he has restored). They gave us a tour of it - we should have taken pictures!

Patti on the roof taking down the solar panels.

We had raised the panels to increase our solar gain -- we figure we only need to do this for December-February when we're boondocking and wanting to get optimal solar gain. Meanwhile Carl was putting everything away on ground level.

Panels all down, ready to travel.

Driving out from our campsite...

... and on the road that goes around the campground. You can see that there are rocks to the sides and desert plants all around.

We did not want to hook up the Jeep in the campground in case we needed to back up... so I drove Gracie to the visitors center... a mile or so...

... a wider 2-lane road.

As I was watching where I was going and repeating the mantra to "Swing wide..." -- a song came to mind:

Swing wide, big Gracie bus, comin' down the campground road!
Swing wide, big Gracie bus, comin' down the campground road.
I looked 'round the corner and what did I see, a'comin' down the campground road?
A band of cacti just a'waitin' for me, comin' down the campground road.
Swing wide, big Gracie bus, comin' down the campground road!
Swing wide, big Gracie bus, comin' down the campground road.
If you get parked before she do, comin' down the campground road,
Come 'n' watch so she don't get scratched, a'comin' down the campground road.
Swing wide, big Gracie bus, comin' down the campground road!
Swing wide, big Gracie bus, comin' down the campground road.

You'll have to sing it to yourself, I'll spare you hearing my voice!
