Riu Palace Punta Cana

Wednesday was our first full day at the Riu Palace Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

We decided to take a walk down (southward) on the beach...

Punta Cana sign -- Carl had recalled there being vendor stalls down this way on the beach... but we think that they have been replaced with other resorts (we walked about a mile down the beach and only saw other resorts).

We stopped where there was a couple taking pictures - we often see folks taking pictures of each other, and offer to take a picture of the two together, and they appreciate it, and then often also take a picture of us. Well... the lady taking the pictures must be a professional. Carl took 2-3 pictures of the couple, and started to show her how to take a picture with his camera -- she motioned that she knew what she was doing - she must have taken about 20 pictures of the two of us! They did not speak English and we don't speak other languages... so we didn't get their story...
