Service

We are so blessed to have my brother, Jimmy, to do service on our rig.

Gracie with her back end in the shop (front end outside the door) and up on jack stands.

We had gotten parts at the Excel Truck Group (Freightliner) and Cummins Sales and Service in Richmond/Chester on Wednesday...

... one of the parts we got was a replacement DEF filter. You can see the size from Carl holding it in his hand, and it just looks like folded paper around in a circle... but the cost was over $120 for it! They are "proud" of their filter!

This is the underside of Gracie and the DEF filter goes, where the round thing is pointing down near the middle of the picture.

This was the old DEF filter. It was of a different design than the new one. It definitely looks like it has quite a bit of sediment/dirt in the bottom part. They are supposed to be good for 200K miles, and Gracie is nowhere near that (she has under 100K), but Carl was concerned because we figured that the part was original (so now 12 years old), so he wanted to replace it.

Gracie also had an oil change, fuel and oil filters changed, and general checking of components. We need to get a couple of more parts and then she will go back into the shop for the service to be completed.
