Caravan Day 3 -- Liberty Lake, Washington to Fort Steele, British Columbia

On Monday, we started heading north.

This was our site at Liberty Lake RV Park -- we were told that this may be the last time we would be parked on concrete for the duration of the trip!

We left the campground about 15 minutes after the wagon masters left (about 8:15am).

Views as we were driving north on US 95 through Idaho.

I think this was Sandpoint, Idaho.

Carl and I were a little anxious about the border crossing (you never know whether you might get an agent who is having a "bad day"), but it turned out to be very easy (we had prayed for our border agent before we left the campground!).

It turned out that we arrived at the border soon after the wagon masters. We were about 8 vehicles behind them. The wagon masters had cautioned all of us guests against playing "race the wagon masters to the campground" as the wagon masters need to get there early and get set up to get all of us parked. We had no intention of "racing the wagon master", but happened to be moving quickly on Monday morning!

We had decided that we would stop at a pullout about 20 minutes after the border and have lunch there. This was the view out of our window at the pullout...

... soon after we stopped, a few other rigs also stopped there.

We drove through Cranbrook, British Columbia (we stopped at an ATM to get some Canadian dollars), before arriving at Fort Steele Resort and RV Park.

Views from around our campground:

We are starting to see Canadian Rockies...

... osprey nest across a pasture...

... more views of mountains.

So pretty!

A few pictures from some of our fellow guests:

One of our fellow travelers has a drone, so he did some "eye in the sky" pictures...

Our site in the campground. The campsites are "okay" - a bit tight, trees encroaching on the site, and iffy 30A power. The challenge is that with the heat wave that we are experiencing, the iffy power makes it difficult to get and keep our RVs cool -- but we're all trying to be considerate so as not to cause any issues with the power in the campground.

We're glad to be in Canada and on our way on our tour!
