On Monday, we left Sauk Centre on our way toward...
 |
... North Dakota, where we had arranged to meet up with Venture Out friends Lesa and Lyle at a Harvest Host.

Lesa and Lyle live in northeastern North Dakota, and planned a trip to visit Medora this summer - so they scheduled it around the time we would be coming through and planned their first night out at 4E Winery, in Mapleton, ND.

Heading back to our rigs after visiting the winery -- we had a great time visiting in the evening, and then visiting over coffee in the morning as well!

All of us outside our rigs at 4E Winery

Carl was driving and saw that a mid-50s era Chevrolet was passing so I got a picture as it passed us.

We were coming up on this spray rig traveling on the interstate -- yes, farm equipment travels on the interstate. Carl asked if I thought we could just drive under it -- maybe in the Jeep?

We all stopped for lunch at the Coffee Cup in Steele, ND. Lesa and Lyle were also traveling west to their stop in Medora. |

As we got further west near Medora, we could see Theodore Roosevelt National Park lands as we drove along I-90...

The skies were so pretty.

We had reservations to stop for the night in a National Forest (Grassland) campground...

Our site at Buffalo Gap Campground -- it was nice and wide which was good because the tree on the drivers side encroached into much of the site.

Gracie in our site at Buffalo Gap Campground. See that hill beyond Gracie?
|

... we decided to walk up it... going up wasn't too bad...
|
.jpg) |
... but coming down was a bit treacherous! I decided to skid down with my bottom near the ground for much of the way down!

Another view of Gracie in the site, when we were close to getting all the way down again.

It was so nice to visit with Lesa and Lyle, and also to make many miles west!
