Cinco de Mayo

Thursday was Cinco de Mayo, so we decided to celebrate with lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Gilroy.

The downtown area of Gilroy has a lot of shops and restaurants -- a lot more active downtown than a lot of small towns we've seen across the country.

Carl got a burrito with rice and beans and I got a chicken quesadilla - yum!

We had found parking just off the main street in a small lot... we didn't notice that there were murals on the walls of the buildings on both sides of the parking area until we returned to the Jeep...

Gilroy - Garlic Capital of the World! (Note the small structure on the left with its own painting of a little boy climbing up it!)

On the other side, "Wineries of Santa Clara Valley". We pass wineries and vineyards a lot when we're driving around!

We are glad to have had an additional week in this area!
