Moving on down the road...

We left North Valley Diesel's parking lot on Saturday and drove a short distance to Lincoln, California. We stopped for the night in the parking lot of Thunder Valley Casino, which we had found through a couple of RV apps as being amenable to overnight RV stays in their lot.

We decided to walk over to the casino to get some exercise and see what was inside (we wanted to see if the buffet was open!).

Inside the casino -- lots and lots and lots of machines making all sorts of noise, and lots and lots of people seemingly mindlessly hitting the button to bet their money and play another game.

The buffet was not open, but there was a food court that included Fatburger as an option... note that they have 4 sizes of Fatburger - Original, Large, XXL, and XXXL! The XXXL indicated that it had 1.5 pounds of meat (before cooking) and was 1600-2000 calories!!! (We passed on trying one for ourselves.)

As we walked around the casino (we walked all the way around the outside to see all the areas and get our exercise), we saw something odd going on at this group of machines. The area was roped off, and just as we got there, they were being counted down to all start at the same time. Somehow, they were all competing against each other in a game that was 3 minutes long -- at one point, the older lady on the end was in first place, but she ended up being in the middle of the group by the end...

You can see that they were just frenetic in trying to get as many points as possible. We heard that the guy who ended up in first won $15,000. I asked one of the folks who worked at the casino how the players were selected, and she indicated it was due to their previous play on these machines. I guess they use players cards and their game play is tracked -- those who play these machines a lot, or maybe who play these machines well were asked to compete in whatever this contest was. It was interesting to happen along as this was going on.

Neither of us is interested in spending our money gambling. We headed back to Gracie and enjoyed supper at home and a movie!
