Sunday Dinner and a Show

Since we were planning to visit Medora to visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park, we decided to take advantage of a couple of other things available in the area... so we had gotten tickets to attend the Medora Musical on Sunday evening, preceded by dinner at the Pitchfork Steak Fondue.

Another guest offered to take our picture at the overlook as we approached the Pitchfork Steak Fondue venue.

There was a fellow providing entertainment during dinner.

Buffet

Prepared steaks ready to be served.

The steaks are placed on pitchforks and prepared "fondue style"...

... i.e. cooked in hot oil!

Taking a fork full out to prepare to serve.

Dinner tray after proceeding through the buffet and getting the steak.

Yum! that was good! (Note that I have a to-go container. The buffet allows you to go back as many times as you want, and although you can get only one steak at a time, you can get as many as you want. I guess theoretically you could take enough meat for the next week, but I just had half of my original steak left over to bring home.)

The eating area at the Pitchfork Steak Fondue. It was a bit warm, but okay in the shade as there was a little breeze blowing.

The theater for the musical was just a short walk away -- looking down from above...

We had good seats in the Burning Hills Amphitheatre near the top of the lower center section.

Beginning of the show with the band, The Coal Diggers.

Singing of the National Anthem with the cast.

Teddy Roosevelt made an appearance.

Presentation of the flag at the top of the hill toward the end of the show.

Color Me America (red white and blue)

It was quite an enjoyable evening -- our first "dinner and a show". Carl says that we had dinner and a show plus dessert in Grants Pass when we had sandwiches at Cartwright Deli, saw Top Gun: Maverick, and had frozen berry bowls at Yumberry Bowl... (https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2022/06/tuesday-at-grants-pass.html), but... I think Sunday evening's activities more appropriately qualify as "dinner and a show"!
