Wednesday to Rhode Island

We had a reservation to stay at a Harvest Host for Wednesday night in Rhode Island...

Another state collected!

We stopped at the Harvest Host, Ocean State Harley Davidson, parked Gracie, and headed out to Pep Boys to get new tires for the Jeep.

We had planned to get new tires on the Jeep in late summer, but I was a little concerned, after the problem on Sunday, that we might be wiser to go ahead and get new tires before heading into Canada. I was able to find what we needed at Pep Boys near where we'd be staying in Rhode Island, so arranged to get them installed...

The shop had 11 bays, but only two technicians were working, so we had a longer wait than we had hoped for -- even though we thought we had a scheduled appointment...

... but eventually the Jeep was in the shop.

Carl knew that the tread that had detached from the tire had damaged at least one wire in the front end of the Jeep, so while it was up on the lift and the tire off, he took a closer look...

The wire to the side marker light is the one that was pulled loose...

This wire was abraded so we need to add wire loom...

We're not sure what this wire does -- it was not original wiring with the Jeep and is being rubbed by parts on the axle (transaxle? - not related to the tire damage) -- so it needs attention too.

It is too bad that Carl couldn't work on the wiring while the Jeep was up on the lift - it was so accessible!

We found Jimmy's next restoration project!

Gracie is parked down there at the pavilion

What a nice spot to stop for the night!
