It turned out that the Boone County Fair (Boone County is where Belvidere and the Pine Country campground are located) was going on when we got to Pine Country. We decided to go on Thursday after having breakfast with Steve and Karen. (Thursday was Senior Citizens Day so 65 & older got free admission!)
They have quite a few buildings for agriculture...

Also in the dairy barn, signs "Cow Lover Ct" and "Cow Lovers Parking Only, Violators will be milked!"

Beef
We also visited the rabbits, swine, sheep, and looked into the draft horse barns -- they had the horses out in the aisles preparing for a show later in the day.

There was a display of "historic" John Deere tractors ...

... including a 1933 John Deere Model E 1.5 horse power Hit & Miss -- Carl can't resist going to look at a hit & miss when we hear it at a fair or exhibit!
We contemplated going to the grandstand for the Illini Local Tractor & Truck pulls, but there was an additional charge, and, although the grandstand was covered, we were concerned it might be warmer than we would enjoy.
We were ready to get back to air conditioning, so headed out by mid afternoon.
