Historic Wendover Airfield

We spent Wednesday night at the Historic Wendover Airfield. We arrived after the museum closed, but one of the folks who works at the museum came by in the evening and let us know that we could come into the museum before it opened in the morning if we wanted. So, we headed over to the museum on Thursday morning before leaving...

We had seen some vehicles come to the museum so decided to go see...

It is in the former Officer's Club, and even though the sign on the door said, "Closed", we knocked and a nice young man let us in!

There was a display about the cold of winter at the air base... and this was one of the stories on it. I remember Mom telling me about sheets getting frozen on the line, but the two sides did not freeze together as I recall her telling me.

After seeing the museum, we did not take the time to visit the other exhibit areas (something saved to do later), and started heading west into Nevada. The flat, flat, flat salt flats of western Utah gave way almost immediately to mountains...

some with snow!

Miss Kitty is ONE SPOILED ROTTEN KITTY -- on Carl's lap...

I took the driving duties for Thursday morning.

Another view of the mountains.

We have made it to our friend's RV park outside of Wells, Nevada. Our SKP Christian Fellowship Rally starts on Friday, and we are enjoying the park and full hookups!
