On Saturday, we took a walk around the loop behind us to see if the spot in the "meadow" was still open -- we had decided we'd like to move there if it was available, thinking it might be a little less dusty, and would provide us the best possible solar charging since there would be no shading from trees.
On the walk, we found that there was a site available in the meadow -- though it was where the trailer had been when we were there before (the drone pictures from yesterday's post show the location). We walked back to our site in the woods ---

Along the way, Carl took a picture of an R-Pod camping along Toms Best Spring Road for friends George and Marty who also have one.

I drove the Jeep over to the meadow and put a couple of chairs up to "reserve" the site while Carl did packing up for Gracie to be ready to move.

Our new location in the meadow -- Carl popping popcorn on the propane stove outside on Sunday afternoon.

The other group parked in the meadow -- a 5th wheel, tent, and bumper-pull trailer camping together.

Another view of Gracie...

... and yet another. You might see a road that is behind Gracie - it isn't a well traveled road, but one OHV came through it 3 times (the same one all three times!) on Saturday.

It has, unfortunately, been very windy on Saturday and Sunday... the red flag warning expires at 6pm Sunday evening, and hopefully it will moderate for Monday -- and Tuesday, when we plan to move on. It is unpleasant to be outside when the wind is blowing and there is so much dust. We thought that the meadow, since it has more grass, may have less blowing dust than the spot we had in the woods, but... we're not sure that is the case.

Our short drive from the woods to the meadow -- though we drove out to Toms Best Spring Road (117) and then in 3627 -- there were some low overhanging trees on the slightly shorter route. Google maps can be seen here.
