A visit to a model train

On Sunday, after we returned from the "Bike the Drive" trip (https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2021/09/bike-drive.html), George gave us a tour of their beautiful patio (of which we unfortunately did not take any pictures) and his model train setup in their basement.

The train starting out...

Grandson Thatcher has Thatcher's Donuts in the model town

The train coming around the center peninsula

Grandson Blaise has a Hot Wings chicken restaurant

Close up on Blaise's restaurant

Car and train tunnels through the mountain

Train coming out of the tunnel

Over pass -- not quite tall enough for Gracie to get through!

So many details!

Daughter Kristin's Ranch

Control center

A nod to son Jeremy with the baseball field

Bartlett, CO

Information about what buttons control what functions for the computer controlled actions

Remote control

George - engineer, architect, designer, builder, controller

Hay field with round and square bales

The town of Bartlett is placed in Colorado so it makes sense to have mountains.

George explaining some of the tasks in creating this masterpiece!

Bridge over a river

A loading area for company "S.H.Williams & Sons" (for Scott and his sons)

Even graffiti on some of the train cars!

A campground (we have found it is rather common that campgrounds are located near railroad tracks!)

Ironic sign: "Beautify America! Stop Billboard Advertising!"

George's wife Marty has a preschool

We enjoyed our tour of Bartlett, CO and the train service there!
