On Wednesday afternoon, we went on a hike around Ludington State Park. We biked over to the third loop of the campground (Beechwood Campground) and parked the bikes at the entrance to the boardwalk area.

Coming over one of the "overpasses"

A canoe had just passed under the overpass.

There were these nice signposts -- the number at the top (17) indicates where you are, and the numbers below tell you which way to go to get to those two locations.
Studying the signpost...
We are at 17 -- upper right, and we had come from 16 (middle right) and were heading toward 18 (middle middle). We had come from 15 (lower middle) originally and would need to get back there to get to our bicycles.

A slightly posed picture...

As we were heading around that top loop trail (Ridge Trail) - we noticed...
... that we could see the lighthouse out by the lake.
Another view...
... lighthouse over Carl's head.
It was further away than we would have wanted to walk, but it was neat to see as we had visited earlier in the day.

Coming down the steps from Ridge trail back to Lost Lake Trail.

As we were coming back to Beechwood Campground, we found a bench right next to Lost Lake and enjoyed just relaxing and enjoying the quiet.
On Wednesday evening, we decided to go watch the sunset from the beach house again...
There were almost no clouds, so we weren't sure how colorful it would be...
... as the sun disappeared into the lake, the sky got redder...
... and actually, after the sun disappeared, the sky where it set got even brighter.

That was our last evening in Ludington. We found that the campground was nice, though the sites seemed rather tight (they probably would have been very comfortable when the normal camping accommodation was a tent or a pop-up, but it really wasn't built for 40'+ rigs!).
