A big task completed

When we were at the FMCA Convention, we purchased a pair of drawer slider mechanisms from a company we had not heard of previously, Tembo Tusk, (https://tembotusk.com/). They were unique from the normal underbay drawer slider concept in that they do not provide the entire drawer, but rather just the slider mechanism, and we can make the drawer as wide as makes sense for our application.

Unfortunately, I did not get a "before" picture of our space, but...

... this is a picture of the space into which we were going to install the drawer...

... and this shows some of the stuff on the picnic table that needs to go back into that space.

We have a lot of items stored in that space that are relatively long and tend to fall over... so we decided to try using metal shelves in the space to constrain the items -- we got a set of shelves from Home Depot in Palm Springs...

The set up of the shelves in the space...

... the longer items back in the basement constrained by the shelving. You can then see the drawer slides (blue) between the white folded up table and the shelves.

We needed to lift up the drawer slides a little to make them slide easily above the foam insulation at the door.

So, we had purchased a board at Home Depot....

... we found a board in the cull stack which worked for us!

The boards are cut...

... now the shelving is being cut...

... fitting them into the drawer...

... attaching the boards to the slides...

Does the smoker fit? Yes!!!

Smoker pulled out on the new drawer. We will be able to pull the drawer all the way out and lift the smoker out saving our backs when we need to get it out of storage. In addition, we will have room for the propane campfire and leveling blocks on the slide-out tray.

One more project -- we got new lighting for our pantry while at the FMCA Conference, and Carl installed that a few days ago:

... now it is easy to see all the items on all the shelves in the pantry! Hurrah!

It is so nice to get tasks done!
