When we checked in to Palm Springs RV Resort last Monday, we thought we were going to be there for 2 weeks. The first week we were there, we enjoyed it, but... it was windy with blowing sand and between that and temperatures in the high 80s and 90s, it was not pleasant to be outside.
So, when we woke up yesterday (Monday), we checked the 7 day forecast and found:
... high 90s and 100s, uhm, no thank you!
So, we checked the predictions for our next campground (where we had planned to move on April 11) in Acton, California, and it had 10-15F lower temperatures predicted -- "Yes please!"
I called Thousand Trails, asked if they could move our reservation for the next week to Soledad Canyon -- they could... so we packed up and left Palm Springs and moved to Soledad Canyon in Acton, CA.
Carl took pictures as we were driving:

Still very hazy, but we could see snow caps on the tops of mountains...
... looking south toward Idylwild

This area is a valley that creates a wind tunnel through the mountains from the coast to the inland - so there are lots of windmills...
... lots and lots...
... and lots and lots...
... and lots... and more...
... and lots...
... and lots...
... of windmills!
Heading up in elevation toward Acton - the skies are brighter blue.
We have seen a lot of cell towers disguised as various kinds of trees (palm trees, evergreens) -- this was the first one we had seen disguised as a water tower... or... maybe it really is a water tower and just has cellular antennas mounted on it?

So, we're settled in to Soledad Canyon RV Resort for 2 weeks (or, we think we're going to be here two weeks, who knows? we're nomads!). We are already enjoying less wind and cooler temperatures!
