Saturday was our last full day at Whalers Rest near Newport, Oregon, so we went into town to get fuel for the Jeep (cheaper here than our next location, Bend, Oregon), do some grocery shopping, and make a last visit to the US Foods - Chef'Store.

We got the brisket to smoke in the next few days, as well as zucchini and yellow squash to make some squash soup. We know that we are unlikely to have full hookups for the next few campgrounds, so we cooked the soup and prepared the brisket while we could use water to our hearts content!
We have enjoyed Whalers Rest more in the second week both because the weather was sunnier and our site was more open to the sun. It is amazing what a difference sun makes!
