What a difference a site can make

When we arrived at Whalers Rest a week ago Sunday, and we asked the ranger what site(s) she might recommend for us, she asked if we had slides on both sides... I said, "Yes, but we don't have to put them out on both sides." She recommended one site for us -- we knew because she had asked about our slide outs that it was likely to be narrow, but...

... we weren't expecting it to be *quite* as tight as it was! The picnic table was shoved into the bushes to the side so only half of it was usable (Carl is standing next to the seat of the picnic table). We usually don't bring the front passenger slide out anyway, which was a good thing, because there was a tree right by the front of it which probably would have prevented it from successfully coming all the way out. We were able to get the bedroom (back) slide out on the passenger side, which meant we could get to the washer and dryer, though walking into the site from the back meant stooping under the slide. It was tighter on the other side; when we put the slides out on the driver's side, they were right up into the bushes.

Thankfully, there was a place for passenger vehicle parking just across the driveway from us, so the Jeep could park there, and we put our chairs out in front of Gracie when we wanted to sit out.

We had met the folks who were parked in the next two sites up from us. They both had large motorhomes, and the sites they were in had space around their rigs. One of them was leaving on July 5, so we checked what time they were leaving, and planned to move to their spot. They pulled out at about 8am on Tuesday, and we moved into their spot...

... Wow! How much more space! The Jeep even fits *next* to Gracie!!!

Even on the driver's side, although the slide outs are near the bushes, the site has more room than our original spot.

We are happy to have a little more space outside. We're hoping for a bit more sun over the next few days and looking forward to being able to spend more time outside!
