Around the campground

Evidently a horse group made a contribution when Paul Wolff Campground was being built and so some sites were created specifically for campers with horses.

There were two campers in the horse area over the weekend - only one remained at the time that I took the picture.

Carl told me that the campground is required to ensure that the sites are not used for campers who are not camping with horses.

We have seen a few folks on horseback when we were out bike riding.

A large branch came off of a tree during the derecho winds yesterday (Monday):

Part of the limb fell across the campground road

It looks like to me that the tree had been previously damaged

Good thing no one was parked in the campsite right next to the tree

The top broke out of this small (dead) tree

A view back around the area of the tree that was damaged

Doug, the campground attendant whose RV is parked next to ours and that Carl knew from last year, said that there was a nest of baby squirrels that some of the campground attendants needed to relocate into the woods behind the campers.

Tuesday morning, on our bike ride, we came across a turtle:

he/she was right along the bike path was headed for higher grass when we turned around to take a picture - guess he/she was camera-shy!

Carl has an appointment with his eye doctor Tuesday afternoon - we're hoping that they will be able to get his cataract surgery scheduled soon so we can get that large to-do completed.
