Later Tuesday and Wednesday

I posted about our repair happening in Odessa on Tuesday...

After we had left, of course, we were on high alert listening to be sure that there were no more whistles or squeals - and we didn't hear anything like that, but, there was an odd sound from the roof area. It reminded us of a sound we heard back in September (https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2020/09/back-through-west-virginia.html). We had put new tape down on the roof while we were on the farm and sealed it (https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2020/10/some-tasks-around-campground.html), but maybe not good enough.

So, we stopped at a picnic area along I-20 and climbed up on the roof:

Oh my, our new piece had come up a little,

as well as the part between the two horns. You can see where the end of the tape (before Carl cut it off) had been making an arc on the roof -- marking out a clean spot.

Carl cut off some of the loose pieces so they would not flap around. Putting new tape on and sealing all the way around is a task to put onto the "to-do" list for when we get to Mesa.

It was really windy as we came across on I-10 toward El Paso - but the sky was clear and we had a pretty sunset on Tuesday evening.

After an overnight stop at the Walmart in Las Cruces, NM, we continued west on Wednesday - a crystal clear day and so pretty...

The mountains were so much prettier than they show up in pictures...

There were lots of warning signs about blowing dust being a concern, but it was beautiful for our drive.

Just outside Tucson in Marana, we stayed at the same RV park where Dwayne and I have stayed a couple of times in the past. I warned Carl that it wasn't a fancy place, but I didn't sufficiently warn him about how "interesting" the park office person was (there are probably more descriptive adjectives to use -- "rude" would be one -- think the soup nazi from Friends in an RV park office). We also saw the Blue Bird that made me originally interested in looking at Blue Birds way back in 2014 (the blue/silver one just beyond Gracie).

The best part about stopping in Marana is getting to see my niece Ginny and her family!

Ginny, Evan, and Josh in the back yard of their new-to-them home.

One picture of me with them - at a distance. We did not want to risk sharing any germs that may get transmitted to Evan's Nana and Pop.

Such sweet ones!

I am so grateful that we got to visit, though we didn't get to hug their necks this visit. Hopefully things will improve "soon" and we can enjoy close visits again!
