Thursday evening around Venture Out

It was rainy on Thursday (only the 15th day of 2020 when there was rain in the Phoenix area!), so we stayed in most of the day, but the cloudy skies resulted in a beautiful sunset:

I got up on the roof of Gracie to take this picture back toward the center of the resort.

A few minutes later, the clouds had changed - still beautiful!

There was a scheduled event for Thursday evening, "Electric Light Parade Cart Caroling". There was a planned route around the park, with specified intersections where they planned for the carts stop and to have people sing. We went to one of the specified intersections that was a couple of blocks away from our site to join in the festivity.

You might be able to see a golf cart way down there...

Now you can see its headlights...

The first one to arrive...

... was Santa and Mrs Claus! (I've never seen a Santa in shorts before...)

Followed closely by more golf carts with singers and musicians...

"Circle 'em up!"

There was a traffic director - I think she had previously worked with directing planes at an airport - but I think the planes were a little more sensitive to following her directives!

Carts were decorated with lights and other festive decorations!

There were a couple of carts that are just plain cute in-and-of themselves -- this turquoise one...

and this white sedan.

Carl took a video that lets you see the circle of golf carts and enjoy some of the singing.

It was fun getting to see lots of folks -- though we kept our distance from everyone and our masks on... we're still in the 10 day period after entering the park when newcomers are asked to self-isolate as much as possible. Unfortunately, just in general, folks are keeping to themselves - so the park is not as active or enjoyable as it would be in other years. But, we're enjoying being here, with generally nice weather and the ability to get stuff done.
