Maintenance

On our way out of the campground one evening last week, a friend let us know that one of the taillights on the Jeep was not working.

The Jeep has had various problems with its rear lights over the years -- Carl found that the wiring that was done to enable it to be towed behind a motorhome was pretty shoddy and needed attention (it had rubbed the insulation off in places) and he put new loom on that a while ago. But we have periodic issues with it and Carl needs to do various repairs.

This time he found that the top light was not working, so he took the assembly apart...

... cleaned the contacts and used Strike-hold to improve the connection - that seemed to resolve this particular problem.

All back in place.

It appears that there may have been many fixes to try to get the lights on the back of the Jeep to work appropriately with the motorhome... which means that problems are not always straightforward to correct. We were grateful that this one was relatively simple!
