We left friends Keith and Ruth Ann on Friday morning and drove further east in Ohio to Byesville to visit friends John and Jane!
We needed to back into their driveway from the road, so I donned my traffic safety vest to guide Carl backing Gracie in!
Jane made us individual 1-2-3 or Mug Cakes after serving a delicious supper of pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, and potato salad!
John showed us some Ohio Buckeyes (the name of the Ohio State athletic teams and the nickname for residents of the state of Ohio). It is a kind of nut but not edible (contains tannic acid poisonous to both cattle and humans).
John and Jane took us on a tour of Guernsey County - including the new power plan just south of Byesville.
On our drive, we got to see several places along the National Road (more in another post on that)...
Then we stopped for lunch at Lee's Restaurant...
... where we all enjoyed "Sopapillas" ....
... but not the kind of Sopapillas that we would have in Tex-Mex restaurants in Texas (where it is a dessert)! They were very good (just different from Texas ones!).
After our tour - back at Jane and John's home.
We're enjoying our visit here in Ohio next to the Appalachians!
