Cèilidh at the Lions Club

As we were driving over to Cavendish on Sunday, we saw signs for a cèilidh at the Cymbria Lions Club. We looked up information -- the doors opened at 6:30pm, the show started at 730pm, the entertainers were Michael and Shane Pendergast, and it was CN$15 per person -- so we decided to go!

Michael (father) and Shane (son)

One of the first songs that they did was "Island Deer" -- Shane wrote the song in honor of a deer that successfully made the swim from New Brunswick over to Prince Edward Island. I guess it was quite the news on PEI as there are no deer on the island, and other deer have attempted it but without success: https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/deer-swims-from-n-b-to-p-e-i-is-struck-and-killed-shortly-after-making-it-to-shore-1.6129657

It is a cute song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7D2kAKlFGs

If you'd like to see snippets from other songs in the show, I've uploaded a video to Youtube and you can find it here: https://youtu.be/YGY1JYx2xz8
