On Thursday, we left Thousand Trails Thunderbird near Monroe, Washington, and drove south to Thousand Trails Chehalis (near Chehalis, Washington).
On our way south on I-5, we could faintly see a mountain in the distance to the east -- we think it was Mount Rainier. |
We had arranged to get together with my former college mate, Kim, and his wife, Jing, in the lat afternoon. We had visited with them a couple of years ago (when we were also in Chehalis). This time, we decided to go out for pub fare in downtown Tigard, at Cooper Mountain Ale Works (https://www.coopermountainaleworks.com/)...
Carl and I both got burgers (one Classic Pub Burger, and one Stout BBQ) and split them... |
... so we each got half of each burger and shared the sides (waffle fries and beer cheese soup). It was all yummy though the soup was a little runnier than we had thought it would be. |
It was a pretty afternoon, so we sat outside and enjoyed chatting. |
After eating, we went back to Kim and Jing's home and had tea with a delicious walnut tart that Jing had made.
It was great getting to visit with friends again!
