Celebrity Solstice - day 11 - leaving Pago Pago, American Samoa - part 3

When we left Pago Pago, American Samoa, a smaller group of folks,

including Miss American Samoa (https://youtu.be/cq6fhvdskEQ)

were there to dance (https://youtu.be/qvIFYg_TbDk)...

and wave us good-by.

It was so special that they would be there as we were leaving -- by dancing to greet us, they could have had an objective to encourage us to come off the ship and visit and give business to their island. But dancing and waving and continuing to share themselves with us as we left, they were just sharing goodwill from American Samoa to us on the ship. It really made us want to return to visit American Samoa! (which probably is the goal!)

Our ship had to turn 180 degrees to head back out the harbor.

Pilot boat next to us and the tuna cannery on the other shore of the harbor -- run by Starkist Tuna.

Some of the fishing boats...

... another fishing boat.

The pilot boat was alongside...

It came up to pick up the pilot...

... and then headed back to the pier.

Our Captain Theo (from Greece) continued taking the Celebrity Solstice out of the harbor -- Breakers Point on the southeast entry to the harbor (https://youtu.be/abAJ7_9459o)

We continued along the southeastern coast of Tutuila Island toward Aunu'u.

Sunset looking like fire on top of Tutuila Island

Our evening entertainment was from Isabel Olofsson

Very entertaining singer backed up by the ship's orchestra

We had dinner in the main dining room after the show on Friday evening -- Carl took a picture of one of the light fixtures in the main dining room. He has shared that these lights make him think how great they would be as BB targets! (I'm glad that he doesn't have a BB gun!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to American Samoa!
