Monday was another sea day -- no getting off the ship today!

When we got to breakfast in the buffet at about 8:30am... |

... it looked like we had it almost all to ourselves! |
We headed to the theater for another lecture by Dr Ngaire -- this time her topic was on our next island stops in Fiji. |
Again, positioning of where we are... |
... specifically, Fiji is still part of Melanesia, but very close to Polynesia. |
We would be making two stops on the island of Viti Levu (about the size of the big island of Hawaii). The first stop at Lautoka, the next day Suva. |
Some of the information that Dr Ngaire shared -- she also shared that a lot of workers from India had been brought in to Fiji to work the sugarcane, and therefore there is a great influence from the Indian culture. |
"Bula" (pronounced like "mBula" with a slight "mmm" buzz in front of the hard "b" sound) means "Hello" or "Welcome" |

As we headed back toward our cabin, there was a match of ship's officers versus guests in curling. I think that the guests were the overall winners in this contest. |

Several evenings, we have gone to the main dining room for dinner. It is interesting in that, even though we have an "open" dining time, and we have come to the dining room at different times, we have always been seated at this set of tables -- either at the window, or at the table where Patti is seated. At the early dining time, there is always a family of 4 (two young daughters) at the table furthest from the window, and a couple from British Columbia in the second table from the window. The window table or the third table (whichever we are *not* seated at that evening) has had a different couple each time. |

We always have Mark as our waiter -- he is really good and knows the likes/dislikes of the guests (some of our fellow table guests have particular wishes that he tries to accommodate). |

We wrapped up the night with a show by Peter Byrne who did a number of Neil Diamond songs. |
Always lots to do!
