We continued our day on Monday with a trip to visit Manly Beach.

We headed to Circular Quay to the ferries -- and got another picture of the Sydney Opera House... |

... as well as the Sydney Harbour Bridge. |

Our ferry trip passed by the Sydney Opera House... |

... and we got a view of the Central Business District from the east. |

We had been told that you should get gelato and/or beer when visiting Manly Beach -- we shared a bowl of gelato -- yum! |

Words to live by! |
The ferry wharf was on the Harbour side but we had just a short walk across the spit of land to the sea side...

... where we found Manly Beach -- looking north... |

... looking south... |

... looking east out over the Tasman Sea. We had thought that we would be on the Pacific, but it turns out that the water between Australia and New Zealand is the Tasman Sea. |

This fellow lectured us on the importance of bringing sustenance for the locals (we had not!). |
We sat on the steps and enjoyed watching the beach-goers for a while; we weren't interested in getting too much more sun, so headed back to Sydney early afternoon...

... back along the Corso on our way to the ferry wharf. |

A selfie on the Corso (the background looks almost like an impressionist painting to me!) |

Leaving the wharf on the ferry -- the ferry was backing out (we had gotten seats at the front) |

Coming back toward Circular Quay - past the Opera House... |

... past the Harbour Bridge with the sun lower in the sky... |

... a big ship at the Overseas Passenger Terminal... |

A final selfie coming in to Circular Quay |
We enjoyed getting a little further out from the Central Business District -- and again, the cost of public transportation blew us away -- I think that we paid only AUD$1 for the total round-trip (US$0.63) -- amazing!
