Day 6 in Sydney - part 2

We continued our day on Monday with a trip to visit Manly Beach.

We headed to Circular Quay to the ferries -- and got another picture of the Sydney Opera House...

... as well as the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Can you see those tiny bumps on the top of the bridge? They are participating in an activity called "Bridge Climb". You only need to spend a couple of hundred dollars to subject yourself to that torture!

We had been told that you should get gelato and/or beer when visiting Manly Beach -- we shared a bowl of gelato -- yum!

The ferry wharf was on the Harbour side but we had just a short walk across the spit of land to the sea side...

... looking east out over the Tasman Sea. We had thought that we would be on the Pacific, but it turns out that the water between Australia and New Zealand is the Tasman Sea.

This fellow lectured us on the importance of bringing sustenance for the locals (we had not!).

We sat on the steps and enjoyed watching the beach-goers for a while; we weren't interested in getting too much more sun, so headed back to Sydney early afternoon...

We enjoyed getting a little further out from the Central Business District -- and again, the cost of public transportation blew us away -- I think that we paid only AUD$1 for the total round-trip (US$0.63) -- amazing!
