On Tuesday, we decided to go for a bike ride.
There is a bike path right behind where we are parked, so we started by biking a short distance over to the Ashland Oredock (Gracie is in the background of the picture above the second "A" in Ashland).

A picture of what the dock looked like when in use.

Toward the end of the dock, we talked with a couple who had e-bikes and they told us about these ones that they had...
Carl has been doing quite a bit of research on ebikes -- we'd like to have them to "flatten the hills". No decisions on which will be best for us yet!
The end of the dock past the railing that ended the walking / biking access.
The trail continued for a mile or so along Lake Superior and then turned inland...
It was a nice shady path -- we think about 8 miles long in total. We did about 4 miles of it and headed back to the rig.

We are enjoying Ashland! We are very glad that we got here on Monday and got the site that we did. There really have not been sites available as we would have thought that there might be on Tuesday (and Monday) -- we anticipated that the campground would be full on the weekend (Thursday-Saturday nights) but we didn't figure on it being full throughout the week too. Probably just an indication of how busy campgrounds are with the large number of new campers being sold (400K+ in 2020, 500K+ anticipated in 2021) and, from what we've heard, a very small small number of campsites being added. News sources for RVers have been warning that it is just going to get worse... which may mean that we need to do more planning (and booking) ahead than we've been accustomed to doing in the past.
