We enjoyed our day with Galen and Julie...
First... we got to examine their beautiful mantel over their fireplace... a custom carved piece specifically for their family:
It starts with illustrating the woods and some of the woodland creatures (bear)... |
... continues on to display the garage with its upstairs apartment... |
... the house with "Carl and Patti" up on the deck, and Julie walking their dog down below... |
... front of the house... |
... on around to Phil (their son) on the wave runner... |
... and Stacey (their daughter) and "Dad" in the fishing boat with a duck overhead... |
... and ends with Galen hunting a deer (elk?) on the far right... |
... showing the end of the carving. |
Then, each end has family tree...
Galen's family -- including his Mom, Reeva Larrabee (sister to Carl's Mom, Verna), and Linette (and Nick) Lee, whom I first met when we visited them in Ohio last year (https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2020/07/and-even-more-visiting.html). |
... and Julie's family on the other end piece. |
Later in the morning, we headed out in the pontoon boat for a tour of Birch Lake. |
We were having a good time with our great tour guides, Galen and Julie! |
Selfie on the boat. |
Gracie (their dog) enjoyed the trip too! |
Coming back to their dock |
