There was a memorial service for one of our friends here in the park, Bob Bingham.

The gathering was held in the room where the VO Ham Radio club regularly meets. There was a good group gathered to remember and share about Bob.

Bob's widow, Laura, shared...

... as well as his daughter, Sharon.

Ervin conducted a silent key ceremony - done for ham radio operators who have passed away. It involves calling for their call sign to check in 3 times, and then indicating that the call sign is now a "silent key" -- related to the time when ham radio was using morse code "keys" (video here: https://youtu.be/292HxB6yyIg). It was a moving ceremony.

We were glad to hear and share memories of Bob at the gathering.
We got hamburgers for lunch through the Softball club fundraiser...
|
... and then joined other "absolute beginner" line dancers

We got to practice some of the steps we had learned on Thursday, as well as one we had learned a couple of years ago, in addition to learning a new step that, I think, is going to be taught in the class on Thursday. There are SO MANY line dances!
