A BIG to-do moved to DONE

Sorry for no posting for a couple of days... but...

we got a BIG to-do DONE on Saturday -- this is a picture (on the desk) of our wills, Durable Power of Attorneys, and Medical Power of Attorneys -- all signed, witnessed, and notarized -- HURRAH!

We were able to use a notary at a local RE/MAX office that a friend recommended. (We found out that, it seems, banks will not provide notary services for wills... evidently due to concern that they could be called into court.)

We are grateful to have this task completed -- we've been working on it (on and off) for over a year and a half!

To celebrate, we had Italian beef sandwiches at Portillo's...

Additional to-do's: We had borrowed Scott's ladder on Thursday, and wanted to get the tasks completed that we needed it to accomplish... the biggest one was to try to straighten the slide topper that got mis-rolled during the winds that we had on Tuesday (https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2021/08/start-of-project-and-more-storms.html)...

Carl was able to take tension off the roller and get the fabric unrolled enough to straighten it. It appears to be stretched a bit now on the end of the topper, but, we are hoping it will be okay.

We also re-checked air pressure in tires -- one of the duals had indicated low pressure via the tire monitoring system when we drove up from Big Rock on Tuesday -- not extremely low, just a little low. But, when we checked it with the gauge, it seemed to be fine.

We also had an alert from the tire monitoring system that it was not getting a signal from one of the tires on the Jeep -- so we took that sensor off and checked the battery, and it was dead. So we put a new battery in and the tire monitoring system can see that Jeep tire now.

We figure that it is a little more important that the monitors on the Jeep tires are working than those on the coach -- we probably would notice if a tire on the rig blew or had issues while we are driving, but we might not notice if a tire on the Jeep went flat while it was being towed unless another vehicle on the highway alerted us in some way. Right now, all the sensors are working... but it is a constant task to keep them all working! Usually a battery change is all that is required, but, sometimes the sensors are damaged (probably by jarring due to poor roads) and have to be replaced. Carl and I both had tire monitoring systems (Dwayne and I actually had two -- we found that purchasing a new system was cheaper than purchasing additional sensors!) -- so we have spare parts for a while, we hope!
