An update from last week

Last week on Tuesday we met up with Will at Maid-Rite in Moline, Illinois (https://journeyinamazinggrace.blogspot.com/2021/08/tuesday-with-friends.html). I mentioned that we had some more pictures of our time with Will, but would wait until another one of our friends had received a surprise...

After lunch at Maid-Rite, when we headed outside, we got to see Will's new "ride" -- a stretch limo.

He took us for a ride in it -- it is 28' long -- we figured that where we were sitting would be kinda like sitting in the bathroom of Gracie while someone else was driving!

We enjoyed being chauffeured around Moline... he told us that he was going to be getting it to Memphis for Elvis Week (he was leaving the next day to start traveling there). He drove his pickup and towed his 5th wheel, but his son brought the limo down when he came a few days later.

Our friend, Jan, along with other friends who are also in Memphis for Elvis Week, got the surprise on Monday, as Will chauffeured a number of them in the limo from Memphis to Tupelo.

We're so glad that our friend, Jan, is enjoying the surprise that Will planned. I'm sure the other friends who are going along for the ride also enjoyed it!

Meanwhile, in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago...

we spent Monday evening watching weather reports and being interrupted by weather warnings of tornadoes in the area. Thankfully they bypassed our location, though we heard of sightings of tornadoes on the ground in several locations in the area.

One of our friends who is at Paul Wolff campground (near Elgin, where we plan to go on Tuesday) told Carl that a tree came down on a 5th wheel on Sunday. This would have been in the "old" section of the campground as the trees in the new section are little more than twigs in the ground, and we usually park in the new section... but... it does seem that there have been a number of severe storms coming through. I guess it is that time of year...
