More "around the campground" pictures

Carl had borrowed his son Scott's, ladder, so he was doing several tasks that needed the use of a ladder...

We have been trying to figure out how to adjust the awning so that water will shed off of it if it happens to be out when we get rain... we thought a look at it from the ladder would make it clear how to adjust it, but... we still didn't figure it out.

We made a visit to the local farm stand... as we were bringing our purchases in, the cantaloupe ended up on the front passenger seat where Miss Kitty had been standing, erh, lying guard.

She was NOT amused...

Carl also got some jalapeno peppers at the farm stand and stuffed them with cream cheese...

while he was smoking some ribs ...

... he put the stuffed jalapenos around the ribs and smoked them too -- jalapeno poppers. He said that they were good -- I am not a hot (spicy) food fan, so I did not try them... but so far, everything else he has made on the smoker has been yummy!

  1. Patti, that looks like an A&E awning now owned by Dometic. I think you loosen the knob, pull the awning down to compress the arm and tighten the knob - either one side or both. I used to be a fan of A&E but after I bought their very first attempt at a motorized awning, I'm no longer fond of them. The problem with dipping the awning and tightening the knob is that you have to loosen it and let it go back to its extended position before retracting it for storage.

    1. Hi, Don -- we've tried loosening the knob and pushing the arm in... but it just doesn't budge (Carl has strenuously encouraged it with no success). It has a rivet that appears to go through the part that should slide just inside the knob that prevents the part from sliding. We also realized that we would have to undo the adjustment before we could retract the awning, which seems to be both something we could possibly forget and a pain to have to do... but it would be nice at times to be able to dip one end.
We don't usually have a ladder with us, and the awning arms are *way* up high -- so we'd need to start carrying a ladder if we decided it was something we wanted to do very often.
Thanks for being a faithful reader and contributing!
