We are staying at Thousand Trails Pine Country, near Belvidere, Illinois. It is about 30 miles away from Paul Wolff Campground in Elgin, which is about the same distance as to the other Kane County Forest Preserve Campground, Big Rock, from Paul Wolff. Pine Country is northwest of Elgin, directly up I-90.
We are very close to I-90, so hear the din of the highway traffic if we are outside and the wind is in the right direction -- we don't hear anything when we're inside Gracie.
A few pictures from around the campground...

Staying at Pine Country is not quite as convenient for visiting with friends and family, but the price is nice (it is free with our Thousand Trails membership). It is a pretty large campground and we enjoy biking or walking around. Most sites have rigs parked on them, but, at least during the time we've been here, very few have anyone actually occupying the rigs (they are seasonal or annual sites that people park their rigs on and visit occasionally). So, the campground is pretty quiet. It might be rowdier during the summer - we've only been here in September/October.
