A busy first day in Mexico

We decided to go to a breakfast place on our first day in Mexico. Six of us decided to walk, and two were going to drive.

As we were leaving from the RV park -- a view up the beach (we were walking the other way).

Walking down the street by a large hotel (I think this is where we had taken a wrong turn).

I didn't take pictures of the armed guys with masks on that we came across while we were lost. We're pretty sure they were Mexican Coast Guard, and nothing bad happened...

We walked around the large harbor.

Lots of fish markets

We weren't *exactly* lost at this point, but... we weren't on a street that Nancy recognized...

But we ultimately got to Lucky's Cantina, where you buy a beverage for $7 and get a free breakfast.

A view back up toward the condominiums near our RV park

Shrimp boats

A kitty came right to our table to visit. We had been cautioned not to come in contact with any of the local cats or dogs as they may carry diseases that we would not want to bring back to Miss Kitty.

A sign in a vacant lot that we passed...

We stopped at a fish market -- this was the ice chest with the largest shrimp - Carl showing the relative size with his hand in the picture.

They would clean the shrimp for no additional charge

We stopped at Jessy's Fishmarket, that Nancy and Steve had come to before.

Our walk back was a bit more direct and on more well-traveled routes (no masked men with guns).

Picture taking (Wayne taking an imaginary picture)

Skewering the shrimp that we had purchased earlier in the day

All the skewers of shrimp

More skewers ready to cook

We also purchased some scallops - searing in the pan

Cooked scallops - they turned out kind of tough - so I guess we overcooked them...

Amanda made Shrimp Jambalaya -- and a skewer of cooked shrimp.

Busy first day in Mexico - we got to experience a lot!
