On Friday evening, we joined some of the other folks who are also volunteering at
the camp for a buffet dinner at the historic Jacaranda Hotel (https://www.hoteljac.com/) in Avon Park, Florida.

Since
it was Friday, there was a seafood buffet, with fried shrimp, oysters,
and scallops as well as baked fish and fried chicken - and good
vegetable options and a salad bar...

... and desserts!!!

grand piano and additional seating areas in the lobby. To the right in
the picture is the elevator - it has to be operated by a member of the
hotel staff as it is a manually operated elevator.

The hotel has 31 rooms, of which they only reserve 30 just in case a problem occurs and someone has to be relocated to a new room.
It was nice going out and getting to know some of the other folks who are working at the camp!
