Monday - back to work - Sower day 5

On Monday, after being out a lot later than we would usually be (for the football game), we weren't as enthusiastic about getting started in the morning, but made it to devotions and had a good message about taking the opportunities with which God presents us.

We also heard at devotions that a couple of projects needed to get completed before Wednesday, so we may be called off of our current project to work on those... but that Becky and I should start the day continuing with our "crazy quilt tile" table and benches project.

We started by wire brushing the bases for the table and benches, and then blew them with the air compressor - in preparation for painting.

We were waiting for someone who would come to give us instructions on the grouting of the tile -- he came, and we got instructions on what to do, but realized it was close to break time and we wouldn't be able to complete the grouting task, so we turned to painting instead.

Table bases are painted.

At break, we got re-assigned to one of the "needs to be completed by Wednesday" tasks... so we headed up to the tennis courts.

Carolyn is doing hand painting with a brush along and under the chain-link fence.

Becky is putting her muscles into rolling the paint on the courts.

I'm rolling while Carolyn is doing the edges.

Carl is putting grout in the cracks below the bleachers.

Group leader Bill is cutting the end of a pipe on which to attach the chain link fence while Dave stabilizes the ladder.

Carl and John discuss the progress on the cracks between the blocks -- John was cleaning it up with a wire wheel tool while Carl was preparing a new tube of caulk to continue his filling task.

Meanwhile, five of the ladies (including me) went into Lake Placid seeking "finds" at the thrift shops (no pictures of the shopping trip)!
